What causes most diets to fail? Two answers that come to mind immediately are lack of results and simple hunger. Face it. If you don't get immediate results, your tendency is to stop the diet and try something else. And if you are hungry all the time, what are you going to do? You're going to eat. It's as plain and simple as that. So, what can you do to remedy this problem? You can give a new diet a try, often called the paleo diet or caveman diet.

There are many varieties of the paleo diet, and the least relaxed form of it eat dairy, beans, potatoes, or grains. These restrictions are put into place mostly because these types of foods did not exist in an easy to get format when we were wandering the valleys 10,000 years ago. We did not yet cultivate food, figure out how to make bread, or even how to cook properly. So, what are you restricted to eating on this paleo diet? The options in front of you are fresh fruit, vegetables, seafood, meat, eggs, nuts, and seeds. Think hunter and gatherer. If you cannot pick it up off the ground or pick it from a bush or dig it from inside the ground, you don't consume it. Apparently, this allows us to have more harmony with our body.

What if you cannot do a strict paleo diet? Have no fear. Try just committing to one paleo meal each day. Then, as you get better at it, do two meals, and finally do all paleo meals. If you ease into it, it won't be as hard as doing it all at once. If you're going to do a single paleo meal every day, try making it dinner having meat or fish plus a couple of vegetables. Remember that potatoes aren't really a vegetable, so having carrots or broccoli would be a better choice. Because this diet automatically reduces your intake of refined carbs, you're going to be feeling fuller and the fullness is going to last longer. It's also going to keep your insulin levels in check.

A simple paleo diet can really get you losing fat quickly, and after only a few weeks, you should start experiencing some serious weight reduction. Plus, you're going to experience increased energy and you won't get hungry as often as on a normal diet.
